Welcome: Thank you for visiting my website where I will try to keep up to date.
Goal of this course: this course will examine a wide variety of current issues affecting human societies and factors driving social change.
You will examine a range of topics, including: - foundational theories of anthropology/psychology/sociology - factors driving social change - effects of social change - challenges faced by societies and individuals because of social change
The course will culminate with an independent research project, in which you will investigate a social issue of interest to you.
This course is intended to prepare you for a university level experience and will require regular attention to this class and current world issues.
The research and inquiry skills listed below come directly from the 2013 curriculum. Students will practice these skills throughout the course.

Throughout this course, students will:
A1. Exploring: explore topics related to the analysis of social change, and formulate questions to guide their research;
A2. Investigating: create research plans, and locate and select information relevant to their chosen topics, using appropriate social science research and inquiry methods;
A3. Processing Information: assess, record, analyse, and synthesize information gathered through research and inquiry;
A4. Communicating and Reflecting: communicate the results of their research and inquiry clearly and effectively, and reflect on and evaluate their research, inquiry, and communication skills.
